Strategy Team #3 – Leverage Information Technology
The ability of Columbus Water Works to leverage information technology has helped us, as an organization, to become more efficient and effective in providing water and wastewater services to our customers. Implementation of information technology systems for our Water Quality Monitoring Department (LIMS- Laboratory Information Management System), Accounting and billing (LAWSON), Customer Service(e-TAP - electronic Transaction and Payment) system; Wastewater Treatment Plant (SCADA - Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) system, Engineering (GIS - Geographical Information System), Managed Maintenance (MAXIMO work order system) and Field Services (GPS- Global Positioning System) have created avenues for CWW to deliver our water, treat our wastewater and manage our programs in a fiscally responsible and efficient manner.
Our Information Services Department
is directly responsible for maintaining our technology infrastructure, which is critical in internal and external communications, ensuring our business continuity and allowing us to exceed our customers’ expectations.
