Columbus Water Works has been working with the community to collect used kitchen grease for the past few years.  This used grease that would otherwise be tossed in the trash is being used to generate supplemental power at the wastewater treatment plant.  Our community has been very supportive of this program and has asked for additional opportunities to drop off used cooking grease more often than our bi-annual collection events.

Grease ContainersAt CWW, we listen to your input!  CWW is happy to announce the creation of two (2) Grease Recycling Stationary Sites to collect your used cooking grease!  Now instead of having to wait until August or January, you can bring it to one of these locations any day, at any time

The only difference between our collection events and the stationary sites is that you will have to leave your container with your grease when you drop it off.  So please make sure that you bring it out in a disposable container.

These sites are located at: Grease Recycle Site

directions1335 Alexander Street (just past the entrance to the Columbus Water Works’ Service Center on the right)

3001 South Lumpkin Road (Through the South Columbus Water Resources Facility main gate.)

These stationary locations will only collect used kitchen grease.  Please do not drop-off your expired or unused medications at these sites.  For more medication recycling locations and dates, please call 311.
